Wood a sustainable feedstock for the “bio-economy”

Wood is playing an increasingly important role in our energy supply. Due to climate change and the required phase out of all fossil fuels, wood demand is expected to increase significantly. But Europe's potential for forest residues and recycled wood is already widely used. This will create a significant shortage in the coming years.

The solution: fast-growing tree species on agricultural land. They enable efficient and cost-effective production of large volumes of energy wood within a few years. At the same time, energy wood plantations are economically attractive and make an effective contribution to environmental and climate protection
